Northland NZ community sinking the stats!

We’re clapping from across the globe for the incredible work and dedication the Northland NZ community has put into #sinkingthestats! Multiple local organizations like Water Safety NZ, Coastguard NZ, Waipū Cove Surf Life Saving Club, and more created a team to support and listen to their community to make the waters a safer place. They held info-gathering sessions with their neighbors that will be replicated around the country to amplify voices and take action. Waipū Cove Surf Life Saving also partnered with police and Drowning Prevention Auckland to run a successful crab fishing safety course at Uretiti Beach! To go EVEN FURTHER in their advocacy, the club is running programs for schools as well as operating a holiday program for juniors who may not live at the beach, but go during holidays.

When the community comes together CHANGE HAPPENS, and they are inspiring proof of this!
